Showered With So Many Blessings!

In early in mid-June I had two wedding showers! It was so much fun. :) The first shower was at my home church in Roseau. It was so fun to see so many women from my church, as well as, 5 of my aunts! I have been to quite a few showers at my church and so it was a weird feeling to believe that this was me getting married! They were so generous and it was just good to hear their words of encouragement and advice, as well as excitement for us. It was a great evening.

The second shower was in Warren with Tom's mom's friends! It was also a great evening and it was fun to hear how they all knew Tom and kind of get to know the women of Warren (since we are hoping to move there next spring)! They had ADOREABLE decorations that went with our invitation design. (I'll get the pictures from Kari so you can see what it looked like.) They were also so warm and welcoming to me that it just made it so comfortable. Again, another great evening! We feel SO blessed by all that these women did for us and how everyone in the process has helped us with getting ready for the wedding and marriage! We just truly thank God for all of these blessings.

Whew! Spring is here!

Well, whew! Spring has definitely arrived and life has been busy and great! We are now only 7 weeks away from getting married and it is SO exciting! :) Along with that have been some fun wedding related events. At the very beginning of May I was blessed by my future sisters-in-law with a pre-bachlorette party. It was a fun evening with just a few friends, my sister Erica, and future sisters-in-law, Kari and Rebekah. (I'll have to get those pictures from someone.) Then, just after school was done for the year, Lisa (my roommate who is also engaged) and I were blessed with a combined friend wedding shower! Leah (my good friend and old roommate) and Jill (my roommate) were so kind to plan this gathering filled with good conversations, cheesecake squares (yum!), games, laughs, and gifts! Thank you everyone!

Then, last weekend, I ran the Fargo Marathon! It was a goal I had for myself to complete in my lifetime and so it felt very good to do that and to just finish the race. :) It was a lot of fun thanks to all the spectators (including Tom, my mom and dad, my sister Erica, and other friends along the way!) and a lot of other people to run with! Around mile 20-22 it was pretty painful and I really would have liked to quit, but praise the Lord, He helped me make it through to the finish line. My goal was to finish in 4 hours, but I went a little over: 4 hours 3 minutes and I believe 24 seconds. I might have to try again to beat that time. :)At about mile 9.Coming in to the finish line.After it was all done-PRAISE THE LORD! :)

"Engagement" Pictures

This past weekend Tom and I were able to go to his family's farm and see both his sisters, their families, and his parents. We also made a quick day trip to Roseau to get our new couch! (Thanks Mom and Dad!) :) After church on Sunday Tom's sister, Kari, asked if we wanted a few pictures taken, and so we did. We decided not to do some professional photo session, and thought some of the ones Kari took would work just great for our engagement pictures.
We just walked around different areas of the farm and took a few. It worked out quite well. Thanks Kari!

The Latest

Well, the big news of the month is...I'm getting married! Actually, WE are getting married. :) Tom proposed to me 3 weeks ago. (Tom asked for my dad's permission the last time we were in Roseau, which was the last snowmobile post I made!) We are SO excited and are really enjoying this engagement time, too. It has definitely been a cool thing to experience God's love in this way and we just feel so blessed. Our wedding preparations are in process as we will be getting married this coming July! Here are a couple pictures from the weekend we got engaged...one of Tom and I and another of the ring. (Tom did a great job picking out the ring by himself-he didn't even ask me any questions! He really wanted me to be surprised.)

A Good Weekend!

Last weekend Tom and I made another trip to Roseau to do some snowmobiling! It was truly fun and relaxing. Neither of us had gone snowmobiling for quite some time, so it was great to spend a whole day riding. Dad planned a nice trip for us. We rode to Wannaska first to stop for breakfast and then rode out to our cabin. We warmed up with some coffee, hot chocolate, and bars :) and played a little Yahtzee. Then we took another trip through the woods before heading home.

This is a random day post, but it was such a great day that I thought I would share it. (And because I remembered to take a few pictures.) :) It started out with attending my roommate's, Jill, senior voice recital. It was a lot of fun to hear all the pieces she's been working so hard on and she did a wonderful job! It was also so fun to see my great friend Leah! (She also is a friend of Jill's and was in town for the recital.)
It was also a fun day to hang out with Tom. :) After the recital we went to Paradiso and then ice skating! So all in all, it was a good Saturday, February 13, 2010. :)
